Looking for a Walt Disney World vacation that puts you in the heart of the action, but out of the hustle and bustle?  You must consider Disney’s Wilderness Lodge!

Here are our top ten tips for enjoying your stay at this awe inspiring resort!

1- This resort is One of a kind! – So many aspects of this resort are truly awe inspiring. Spend time just walking around and seeing all there is to see. Starting as you step into the eight-story lobby, your eyes are immediately drawn up to the totem poles and 82 foot tall fireplace. Don’t miss the many lobby details before heading outside to continue your exploration!

2- Enjoy the Pools – When enjoying your resort day, be sure to take a dip in one of the amazing pools. Copper Creek Springs Pool includes a waterslide, hot and cold Whirlpool spas, and a children’s aquatic play area. Boulder Ridge Cove Pool offers guests shaded seating areas and even a zero-depth pool entry. Lazing in the sun is an option, but daily activities are also offered at the Copper Creek Springs Pool.

And pack swim shoes! With a kids water play area right outside the main pool, swim shoes can help with little ones’ footing for kids who like going back and forth between the two!

3- Fire Rock Geyser – Located between the Silver Creek Springs Pool and Bay Lake, the geyser was designed to imitate Old Faithful from Yellowstone National Park. It shoots water 120-feet into the air every hour on the hour from early morning through 10:00 p.m.

4- Scavenger Hunts – Be sure to stop at the front desk and ask about the scavenger hunts.  These often include hidden Mickey hunts and the (seasonal) Patriotic bear hunt!

5- Electrical Water Pageant – Add some twinkling charm to each evening of your stay during a delightful nighttime water parade! Glimmering along the shoreline of, the Electrical Water Pageant gives Guests of all ages the chance to marvel at spectacular sights and sounds as sparkling sea creatures cruise the lagoon to electronic Disney tunes you know and love.  It is best to check with the My Disney Experience app or resort hotel front desk for Electrical Water Pageant times because the times can be impacted by the weather and by the Magic Kingdom fireworks show times.

6- Watch the Fireworks – If you are lucky enough to have a fireworks view, you’ll have a great private fireworks show from your room every evening.  However, don’t stress if you don’t; just head to the resort beach to watch

7- Check out all the Recreation Activities – Whether you have a need for speed or crave a relaxing excursion, Disney has the activity for you! You can rent bikes and boats at the Teton Boat & Bike rental, take guided fishing tours and enjoy the volley ball court, health club, children’s playground and beach area.  There is also a walking/jogging trail that leads to Disney’s Ft. The character dining experience onsite, Storybook Dining at Artist Point was even named to Travel and Leisure’s best restaurants in Walt Disney World!  A friendly reminder that dining reservations can be made 60 days before your check in date.

9- Territory Lounge – Looking to unwind after a long park day? Head to this this rustic bar that offers snacks, small plates, sweets, and cocktails. One of the coolest features of this lounge is the room filled with Walt Disney memorabilia as well as two of the original cars from the train that he had in his own back yard!  Check out their menu.

Lastly; this isn’t a resort specific tip but I’d be remis to not mention this general Disney resort guest tip every chance we get!

10- Early Theme Park Entry

Early Entry can be a great way to enjoy the theme parks with lower crowds. Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels and select other hotels can take advantage of a 30-minute early entry into Walt Disney World theme parks every day. Please note, not all Walt Disney World attractions are available during early theme park entry. Early theme park entry schedule and available attractions are subject to change without notice.

Guests of deluxe resorts are also privy to some special evening hours in the theme park!
