Know Before You Go

  • Transportation: The major advantage of this resort is that it is a short boat or Monorail ride (or slightly longer walk) to Magic Kingdom. The same Monorail can be also be used to ride to the Transportation And Ticket Center, here guests can transfer to another Monorail and ride to the front gate of Epcot. There is bus transportation to the remaining theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs.
  • Check-in time 3:00 PM, Check-out time 11:00 AM. 
  • Location: Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is in the Magic Kingdom resort area between the Transportation and Ticket Center and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. It’s just across the Seven Seas Lagoon from the Magic Kingdom.
  • Laundry facilities are next to each pool. Cost is $3 per wash, and another $3 per dry cycle. The machines take credit cards. A small selection of soap, fabric softener, and dryer sheets are also sold, for around $1 each. A typical wash cycle takes 20 to 30 minutes, and a typical dry cycle takes 40 to 50. F

At 415 square feet, Polynesian’s rooms are some of the largest in all of the Disney resorts and the DVC rooms are even larger. Each Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort room is furnished with the following:

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Longhouse Information

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is home to one of the largest standard room layouts at Walt Disney World. There are 484 rooms in total—including suites located in the Tonga Longhouse. Plus, there are 380 rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows—360 of which are Deluxe Studios, while 20 are the highly coveted over-water Bungalows.

  • Aotearoa: 415 square feet and have Standard, Lagoon, and Magic Kingdom views. The south facing rooms have a garden view, and a great view of the monorail as it arrives and departs from the Disney Polynesian Village Resort. The north facing rooms have either a Lagoon view or Magic Kingdom view. The Aotearoa longhouse is the furthest west of any longhouse. This makes it a very long walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center, but it’s a short distance to the Great Ceremonial House. Because it is also close to Luau Cove when it is running you may also be hear the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show from your room.
  • Fiji:  415 square feet and have Standard views, with the east facing rooms having a view of the marina. Fiji’s closeness to the Great Ceremonial House, Luau Cove, and the marina make it very popular but its the farthest from the Transportation and Ticket Center. Because it is also close to Luau Cove when it is running you may also be hear the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show from your room.
  • Tuvalu: 415 square feet and have mostly Magic Kingdom views, but a few have Lagoon views. It is the most remote of the longhouses at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and is a far walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center.
  • Rarotonga:  415 square feet each and all the rooms are Standard view rooms. There is a deck on the second floor that connects with the Niue longhouse. If you want to be close to action, this is the long house for you as Rarotonga is considered to have the best location of all the longhouses at the Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
  • Niue: 415 square feet each and all the rooms are Standard view rooms. **Does not have an elevator- If you need an elevator you can go to Rarotonga and walk across the deck that connects with Niue.)
  • Samoa:  415 square feet each and all the rooms are Standard view rooms. The Samoa longhouse is very popular because of its proximity to the pools and the Great Ceremonial House.
  • Hawaii:  415 square feet each and these rooms have Garden views, Lagoon views, and Magic Kingdom Theme Park views. The rooms in the Hawaii longhouse are all Club Level rooms. **Some of the best Magic Kingdom views on property
  • Tokelau:  These rooms are slightly larger at 476 square feet each and these rooms are Standard view, except for 2 Lagoon view rooms on the northeast end of the building. This longhouse is located in the middle of the resort.
  • Tonga:  Thisa Longhouse houses all of the suites, from the Honeymoon Suite at 385 square feet to King Kamehameha Suite at 1,863 square feet. Tonga is centrally located just outside of the Great Ceremonial House. The suites are all Club Level rooms.

  • Ambassador VP Suite: There are two suites called Ambassador Suites, one on each floor of the longhouse. They both have two bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and a living area- and are quite roomy. The lower suite has a back yard.
  • Kamehameha Suite: This 2-story suite is 1,850 square feet and boasts 2 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and 3 full bathrooms and 1 half bathroom.

CLUB LEVEL

The King Kamehameha Club and is located in the Hawaii and Tonga Longhouse.

Special services include a lounge, complimentary food and drink, nightly turn down and personalized service.

Club level prices start at about $150 more per night than standard rooms.

Upon arriving to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, club level guests are taken to an exclusive area to be checked in and taken care of. Once guests are brought to the club level they will be introduced to the cast members on hand at two desks set up to be the resource for any special services they may need such as Advanced Dining Reservations, park tickets, and transportation options.

One of the best benefits to staying Club Level is the access to free food for most of the day. Light breakfast options are served, later in the day snacks are available along with an assortment of drinks including soda, hot drinks like coffee, and beer. In the evening appetizers and drinks are set out, including alcohol for guests to enjoy. The day is capped off with cordials and desserts. Mickey ice cream bars are available all day!

The Club level Lounge is a great spot to watch the Magic kingdom fireworks each night, the firework music is piped in to the lounge.

There are several tables and chairs set up for guests to you use throughout the day. Kids have their own area here with child sized table and chairs and a TV running Disney favorites.

  • ‘Ohana- Start your day with a bountiful breakfast or sit down to a Polynesian-themed dinner—both served family-style. Note: Characters and games are currently unavailable.

Dinner Menu – $$$ ($35 to $59.99 per adult) 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM

  • Kona Café: This relaxed café infuses a bit of Asian zest into traditional American meals and features an onstage sushi kitchen. Get the Tonga Toast for breakfast!

Breakfast Menu – $$ ($15 to $34.99 per adult) 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM

Lunch Menu – $$ ($15 to $34.99 per adult) 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM

  • Capt. Cook’s: 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM – Explore your options each morning as you start the day with a Mickey Waffle or banana-stuffed Tonga Toast. For lunch or dinner, discover an adventurous assortment of sandwiches, salads and more. Beer and wine are also available.

  • Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show not currently open
  • Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM- It’s known to have a cult following for a reason! The cast members help to make this bar experience so fun, and the drinks are unique. An outdoor version of this indoor bar, Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace, is also available just a few steps away.

Lounge Menu – $ ($14.99 and under per adult)

  • Tambu Lounge: 8:30 AM to 11:00 PM- This lounge is located in the Great Ceremonial House, near the entrance for ‘Ohana waiting area for ‘Ohana. It offers a full bar and appetizers. The must get is their signature Lapu Lapu which is served in a whole pineapple!

Lounge Menu – $ ($14.99 and under per adult)

  • Pineapple Lanai: 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM- Just outside the Great Ceremonial House, it’s window service offering beverages and the famous Dole Whip!

Snack Menu – $ ($14.99 and under per adult)

  • Barefoot Pool Bar: The Lava Pool’s full bar service and appetizers.
  • Oasis Bar & Grill: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM- A quick-service dining location — with a full bar and a wider selection of food offerings than the Barefoot Pool Bar — at the Oasis Pool
  • Kona Island: In the morning, it is a coffee and pastry booth and in the evening they serves sushi.
  • Private Dining: Breakfast, lunch, or dinner delivered directly to your room. Keep in mind you can order the same meal from ‘Ohana directly to your room if you are unable to secure an Advance Dining Reservation!

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Pools

  • Lava Pool: The resort’s main pool which boasts a 40-foot tall volcano, a waterfall, a hot tub, a waterslide that’s 142 feet long, Kiki Tikis Splash Play Area-a well-themed splash area for little ones, and probably the best aspect- a view of Cinderella’s Castle as you swim!
  • Oasis Pool: Smaller, quieter pool with no waterslides. Does have the Oasis Bar & Grill and the Oasis Patios which can accommodate up to 6 guests each.

Resort Amenities and Recreation

  • The Polynesian Village has no on-site fitness center, but its guests are welcome at the Grand Floridian’s facilities, a short quarter-mile walk or 2-minute monorail ride away.
  • Electrical Water Pageant : Add some twinkling charm to each evening of your stay during a delightful nighttime water parade! Glimmering along the shoreline of this Resort hotel destination, the Electrical Water Pageant gives Guests of all ages the chance to marvel at spectacular sights and sounds as sparkling sea creatures—both grand in size and epic in scope—cruise the lagoon to electronic Disney tunes you know and love.
  • Movies Under the Stars – complimentary screenings of favorite Disney films, evenings on the Great Ceremonial House Lawn.
  • Campfires- Cozy up for complimentary outdoor screenings of popular Disney films immediately following your campfire.
  • Guided Fishing Excursions : Whether you’re a seasoned sportsman or an amateur angler, a guided fishing excursion is fun for Guests of all ages. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made by calling (407) 939-FISH or (407) 939-3474.

Choose from Guided Bass Fishing Excursions, which includes a 21-foot Sun Tracker pontoon boat that can accommodate up to 5 Guests, and a tournament-style NITRO® bass fishing boat for up to 3 Guests. Both 2-hour and 4-hour excursions are offered, and if available, an extra hour may be added in person at the Marina. Solo anglers may book an afternoon excursion at a reduced rate.

All Walt Disney World Resort fishing excursions include: An experienced guide, Rod and reel, Tackle, Artificial and/or live bait (NITRO boats will not offer live bait,) Non-alcoholic beverages only (Guests may not bring alcoholic beverages aboard.)

  • Jogging Trail –Enjoy views of Magic Kingdom park, Disney’s Wedding Pavilion and more as you jog along the lagoon
  • Volleyball- Enjoy a friendly volleyball match on a sandy court located between the Hawaii and Tahiti buildings
  • No arcade on property but guests are welcome to use Disney’s Contemporary Resort’s or Disney Grand Floridian Resort and Spa’s, just a short monorail ride away.
