Your Disney Cruise Line Vacation
Planning your next dream cruise and wondering exactly what the process is like for getting on your Disney Cruise Line vacation? Keep reading!
The Disney Cruise Line Terminal is located at 9155 Charles M Rowland Drive, Port Canaveral Florida 32920 at cruise terminal 8.
Should you be driving, I would suggest parking in Disney’s official onsite parking as it is a quick five minute walk from your car to the cruise terminal. I also always feel a bit safer having my car in the Disney lot as it is a busy, populated area. It is a base $17 per day to park.
Keep in mind that even if you only spend a few hours of the day with your car in the parking lot, it still counts as a full day, and you are charged accordingly. So, for example, you are arrive on a Sunday and leave on a Wednesday morning, you will be charged for 4 days.
The prices for parking directly at the Port Canaveral port for your dream Disney cruise are:
3 day cruise- $68
4 day cruise- $85
5 day cruise- $102
6 day cruise- $ 119
7 day cruise- $136
No cash is accepted and the only forms of acceptable payment for Disney’s parking lot are major credit and debit cards.
If you have luggage with you that you would prefer not to carry from your parked car to the ship, you can drop off your luggage curbside at this point with a Disney cast member. Make sure you have affixed your luggage tags you will have received from Disney before your cruise but don’t worry if you have forgotten to affix them, Disney will write out luggage tags for you, just have your stateroom number ready. Out of courtesy, I always remember to bring cash to tip the porters with my bags. A customary tip is $1-$2 per bag but always feel free to tip more for that exceptional service Disney cast members are known for.
In times past, this would be the point you would also have the option to let your passengers out as well should they not want to walk from the parking lot to the cruise ship. However, if possible, it may be easier to stay together in order to complete your required COVID testing as a group. Disney will require all guests traveling together to have completed their COVID testing before any guests are given the green light to enter their Disney cruise ship.
If you are not parking a car, Disney will direct you where to go for your required COVID tests just outside of the ship entry point.
If you are parking a car, as you pull into the parking garage, you will pay for your space and follow directions to the required COVID testing. You will be directed to a parking spot where a phlebotomist will approach your driver side.
After confirming exactly who is in the car, matching all guests up properly with their reservation, guests will be given their COVID tests with explicit directions on how to do it yourself in your car.
Once you have placed the cotton swab in the provided container, all COVID tests will be collected in a bag and given back to the phlebotomist. These will be whisked away to be tested and you will be directed to park your car and remain in it as you wait for results. It will take anywhere from fifteen minutes to one hour for results to return. Make your arrival time for as early as you possibly can because as more guests show up to cruise, the longer the wait for your negative COVID test becomes.
The most convenient parking level is level three at it is the same level as the covered walkway directly to the ship, but parking anywhere near the elevator will be an easy walk for entry on to the ship as well.
Is part of your group arriving separately? It’s okay as Disney will accommodate guests on the same reservation even if they are arriving in different cars or arriving at different times. However, do keep in mind that all guests on your reservation will need to have taken and received their negative COVID test approval before any guests in your group are permitted to board. I suggest ensuring that your group all shows up at the same time as it can be a bit of a wait if you’ve had to wait for all to arrive and test negative.
Once your COVID test has been processed, you will receive an email with your results. As soon as you have this, you are cleared to enter your ship. You will be asked to show your result at the entrance. After which, you will be directed to enter your ship and your dream Disney cruise can begin!
