5 Questions to Answer Before Planning Your Disney Vacation!

Read Time:2 Minute, 30 Second

Planning a Disney vacation can be extremely overwhelming, even for the seasoned traveler.  Let’s discuss 5 questions that must be answered in order to successfully plan your dream Disney vacay!

  1. When do you plan on travelling?  Knowing when you want to visit the parks will significantly narrow down your options.  Familiarizing yourself with some of the special events that take place in Disney (Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, etc.) can also help you in deciding when you would most like to visit.  In addition, are you looking to visit over a holiday weekend? During the summer when school is out? Winter break?
  2. Where do you want to stay?  Deciding where to stay is key.  Will you be staying on Disney property and using their transportation (daily shuttles and Magical Express) or will you be staying elsewhere and relying on a rental car or other means of transportation?  How close to the parks do you wish to stay?  Do you want to be able to travel to the parks via bus, monorail or boat?  All of these questions will, again, narrow down your options!
  3. Do you want to take advantage of a Disney Dining Plan?  Considering this is only an option for those staying on Disney property, it is necessary to decide where you are staying before coming to this question.  If you DO decide to stay on property and DO want to take advantage of a dining plan, you then have three to choose from!  Are you more of an eat-and-run type of person? Do you enjoy some night sit-down meals but can also eat on the fly?  Do you like to wine and dine on vacation? There is a dining plan for everyone!
  4. How many days do you plan on spending in the parks?  The answer to this question will determine much about your vacation.  Planning meals in relation to your park days is necessary for those wishing for table service and/or character dining experiences.  Knowing not only how many days but also which parks you want to visit is a must!
  5. Do you want the Park Hopper option?  The Park Hopper option allows you the ability to jump from one park to another in the same day!  If you are having trouble deciding how many park days and what parks you want to visit, this is definitely an option for you!  Having the choice to visit two (or even three!) parks in one day widens your ability to see and do more during your stay!
