Why the Transit Authority PeopleMover is a Must Do!

Read Time:4 Minute, 6 Second

I do not like waiting in lines, especially with a handful of young children, in what can be brutally hot weather. I said it, and everyone feels the same. Mostly fathers.

It’s for this reason, and a handful of others, why I fully appreciate the Tomorrowland PeopleMover at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

Most attractions at any of the Disney Theme Parks, to avoid a long wait, and the heat, you need a Fast Pass, and the Fast Pass system, I think, works very well. I think I’ve mastered the art of the Fast Pass.

To find an attraction within the Disney Theme Parks that you can get onto quickly, relax and get some AC for over 10 minutes (it’s actually closer to 16) seems unlikely. This is why the PeopleMover is the best attraction at the parks, especially for the dads. A Fast Pass is NOT required, or even offered.

I have no yet had to wait more than 10 minutes to get. That’s a sell right there. It’s a constantly moving ride. There are always people getting on and off. The name sells itself. It’s moving people.

You get 10+ minutes going into Space Mountain, paging Mr. Tom Morrow, into the cool dark tunnels followed by a look at Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.

I’ve been on just about every attraction Disney offers in Orlando.

Is it as thrilling as the Pandora experiences? No. Is it more exciting to ride than The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train? Nope.

Do you get a break from the heat and screaming kids without having to wait? Yes. And that’s really all a dad is looking for halfway through a trip to Magic Kingdom.

It’s location allows great views of the Tomorrowland Speedway and of course, Cinderella’s Castle, and when exiting, if you have a Fast Pass for Space Mountain, you’re right there. Looking at the benefit, it’s a great attraction to use if you have some time to kill between two Fast Passes.

Another positive, among the many, is that if you have a young child who is a fan of trains, the car you enter resembles a train, so it’s an easy sell.

Take my word for it—as great as all the hyped attractions are at not just Magic Kingdom, but all the parks, you will be hard pressed the find better bang for your buck than the Tomorrowland PeopleMover.
