Allergies and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Read Time:1 Minute, 42 Second

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a special ticketed night time event that takes place on select nights in the Magic Kingdom starting in August until the end of October. The party includes everything you’d expect from a Halloween theme- dressing up in costume, a special holiday parade and character meet and greets. One of the biggest draws to the event of course is- you guessed it- trick or treating!

Trick or Treating can be a stressful time for those with food allergies and it may seem like you’d rather pass on an event largely focused on candy, but have no fear, Disney is here for you! Here is how to have a safe and fun trick or treat experience at the Magic Kingdom:

First, stop in to Town Hall and pick up your teal trick or treat bag. Teal is the official color for food allergy awareness and it will alert cast members not to toss candy from the general bins into your bag!

At each candy station, you will collect teal colored tokens instead of candy- a great way to ensure no cross contamination in your bag!

After you have hit all the stations, take your bag of tokens to a designated allergy friendly trade in station. There, each token will get you a safe candy, cookie packs or non-food choice like craft projects or bookmarks!

Most years the safe treat choices have included smarties, surf sweets gummy worms, bears and jelly beans and Enjoy life chocolate bars and cookies. Disney makes sure you won’t be missing out on the sugar rush!

I love that the event is designed to not only include those with allergies and sensitivities, but doesn’t skimp out on offerings either. I’ve seen pics of allergy snack hauls from the event and rest assured, no one is going home hungry! If trick or treating at home is not a safe choice for you, consider attending a Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party instead!
