  • Transportation:

Get around Walt Disney World Resort with ease using these convenient, complimentary transportation options:

  1. Disney Bus Transportation – Complimentary bus transportation to and from all Disney theme parks and water parks is available. Buses also run to Disney Springs and Disney′s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course. The bus stop at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is located in front of the main lobby.
  2. Disney Water Transportation – Enjoy a leisurely cruise to Disney Springs on a complimentary water taxi.
  • Check-in time 3:00 PM, Check-out time 11:00 AM. 
  • Location: Disney Springs Resort area
  • Laundry facilities– A 24-hour self-service laundry room is located near the Doubloon Lagoon pool, behind Mardi Grogs.  Cost is $3 per wash, and another $3 per dry cycle. The machines take credit cards. A small selection of soap, fabric softener, and dryer sheets are also sold, for around $1 each. A typical wash cycle takes 20 to 30 minutes, and a typical dry cycle takes 40 to 50 minutes.

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort French Quarter Rooms

Beautiful atmosphere, quiet walkways along the water, and good food make this a great place to stay. Guests also have their choice of several room view options: pool, garden, river and standard views.  King bed rooms are also available!

This resort is relatively compact compared to other Moderate Disney resorts. There are 1008 rooms are spread out between 7 three-story buildings.  Each building has elevators as well as stair access.

The buildings are themed to mimic the eclectic style of the French Quarter, with various styles of shutters and doors and wrought-iron railings.   Most buildings do not face the parking lot and rather look into courtyard styled walkways. 

Port Orleans Square is the main building of the resort, housing resort’s check-in, food options and the gift shop.

  • Standard View – Views of Parking Area – 2 Queen Beds – Sleeps up to 4 Adults
  • Pool View- Views of courtyard pool – 2 queen beds – Sleeps up to 4 Adults
  • River View – Views of riverfront – 2 queen beds – Sleeps up to 4 Adults
  • Garden View – Views of gardens – 2 queen beds – Sleeps up to 4 Adults
  • King Room – Views of garden, courtyards, riverfront or parking area- – Sleeps up to 2 adults

Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory- Dine like a true Mardi Gras reveler at this restaurant located at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter.

Scat Cat’s Club Lounge – Unwind in this New Orleans-style lounge with some jazz music true to the great sounds of the French Quarter!

Scat Cat’s Club Café – Dine on delectable beignets at this location just outside Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge.

Mardi Grog’s – Every day’s Fat Tuesday here! Celebrate with specialty drinks frozen or on the rocks, wine, sangria and draft beers, including Abita Amber and Purple Haze. You can even get it to go and take a leisurely stroll along the Sassagoula River.

Recreation and Amenities

  • Pools- At Doubloon Lagoon, it’s Mardi Gras every day! Come slide down Scales, the 51-foot-long snaking sea serpent slide, whose tongue deposits you into the lagoon with a mighty splash. Alligator jazz aficionados, a water play area, a whirlpool spa and the Mardi Grogs pool bar make it even more of a party—as King Neptune watches over all of the merriment from on high.

Vacation Pool Tips- Pool lifts and other access options are available for Guests with disabilities or limited mobility.  Hours and lifeguard availability vary by pool and are subject to change.  Complimentary towels are provided at all pools.

  • Movies Under the Stars – On select nights at 8:30pm, enjoy a Disney movie at the Courtyard, located between buildings 5 and 6.
  • Campfire : Gather ‘round as the sun goes down for old-fashioned family fun as you roast marshmallows by a crackling fire.  Located at the courtyard between buildings 5 and 6 – 6-7pm – 7 days a week
  • Surrey Bikes and Bicycles – Don’t miss your chance to cruise along the banks of the Sassagoula River available for rent at the Riverside Levee Marina.
  • Dockside Fishing – Reel in some fun the old-fashioned way with a casting-rod fishing experience in our well-stocked waters. Casting-rod fishing gear is available for rental at Fishin’ Hole at Ol’ Man Island
  • Guided Fishing Excursions – Choose from Guided Bass Fishing Excursions, which includes a 21-foot Sun Tracker pontoon boat that can accommodate up to 5 Guests, and a tournament-style NITRO® bass fishing boat for up to 3 Guests. Both 2-hour and 4-hour excursions are offered, and if available, an extra hour may be added in person at the Marina. Solo anglers may book an afternoon excursion at a reduced rate. All Walt Disney World Resort fishing excursions include: An experienced guide, Rod and reel, Tackle, Artificial and/or live bait (NITRO boats will not offer live bait.) Non-alcoholic beverages only (Guests may not bring alcoholic beverages aboard.)
  • Jogging Trail – Run or walk along the lushly landscaped banks of the Sassagoula River on a paved, mile-long path.
  • Playground – Kids can climb, slide and play at the courtyard playground adjacent to Doubloon Lagoon.
  • South Quarter Games – For video games, pinball, air hockey and more, stop by this arcade located in The Mint building.
  • Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides – Take in rustic beauty as you travel along charming pathways and the banks of the Sassagoula River. You’ll board your horse-drawn carriage for a 25-minute ride at the Riverside Levee Marina. Carriages fit up to 4 adults, or 2 adults and 3 small children.  Each horse-drawn carriage ride costs $55. Advance reservations are highly recommended.
