Disney’s Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass
Disney has introduced Lightning Lane Passes, a new paid service designed to streamline your visit by allowing you to skip standby queues and experience attractions more efficiently. Starting July 24, guests can purchase these passes and make selections in advance, facilitating better planning. Here are frequently asked questions about the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass.
What are Lightning Lane Passes?
Lightning Lane Passes are Disney World’s newest paid service for bypassing standby lines at most attractions. This service is a significant update from Genie+, offering more advanced planning capabilities. The Lightning Lane Multi Pass replaces Genie+, while the Lightning Lane Single Pass replaces Individual Lightning Lanes.
What is a Lightning Lane Multi Pass (LLMP)?
Lightening Lane Multi Pass allows you to book up to three attractions before your arrival, thereby avoiding standby lines and entering through the Lightning Lane. This service offers greater convenience and flexibility compared to Genie+. Once you have used one of your pre-booked selections, you can book additional Lightning Lane Multi Passes throughout the day, maintaining a maximum of three active selections at any given time.
What is a Lightning Lane Single Pass (LLSP)?
Lightening Lane Single Pass is for premium attractions not included in the Multi Pass. Each park has one or two such attractions, which can be purchased separately. This pass allows for advance booking of up to two premium attractions per day. Unlike the previous Individual Lightning Lanes, you can book these selections in advance, giving you more control over your schedule.
Advantages of Lightning Lane Multi Pass over Genie+
A key advantage is the ability to manage your selections prior to arrival, eliminating the need to wake up early during your vacation to secure your first booking of the day. Additionally, you can view availability and choose attractions and times before purchasing, ensuring you are satisfied with your selections before committing. The ability to hold up to three selections at a time and continue booking additional experiences throughout the day offers significant flexibility and convenience.
What are Lightning Lanes?
Lightning Lanes are alternative queues that allow for significantly shorter wait times. Access requires a Lightning Lane Pass or a Disability Access Service (DAS) pass.
Can I choose any three experiences with the Multi Pass?
Most parks (excluding Animal Kingdom) use a tiered system:
– Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios: You can select one experience from Tier 1 and two experiences from Tier 2.
– Animal Kingdom: You can choose any three experiences from its single tier.
When can you purchase Lightning Lane Passes?
– Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests: Passes can be purchased up to 7 days before check-in for their entire stay (up to 14 days).
– Guests with date-based theme park tickets: Passes can be purchased and selections made 3 days in advance for the total number of valid admission days.
– Annual Pass holders and other ticket types: Passes can be purchased 3 days before their park visit, one day at a time.
Purchase time and process
Purchases begin at 7:00 AM Eastern Time on the first day of eligibility. Both LLMP and LLSP can be purchased simultaneously for your entire travel party, although multiple days must be purchased in separate transactions.
What is the Cost?
Prices for Lightning Lane passes vary by date and park. Pricing information will be available in the My Disney Experience app starting July 24.
Park Hopping and Multi Pass
Initial selections must be made for a single park. After redeeming your first selection, you can book additional selections in any park, subject to availability, without extra charges for park hopping.
Can you book the same attraction multiple times?
No, each attraction can only be booked once per day with the Multi Pass. However, you can join the standby line to ride again if desired.
Are all original Genie+ experiences included?
No, character meet & greets, parades, and certain entertainment options are not included with the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass. This ensures that the service focuses on providing quicker access to the most popular rides and attractions.
