8 Ways To Be More Productive

Read Time:1 Minute, 54 Second

1. Wake up 1 hour earlier.

There is something about starting your own day before the house has. And finishing things on your to do list before the actual day has even gotten in to full swing.  As a mom, just having that cup of coffee uninterrupted; add in being a working mom- knowing that you’ve accomplished a chunk of your to do list first thing is so liberating.

2. Do the Most Important Thing On your List First.

“Eat the Frog” and make it a point every day to accomplish the hardest thing first.  It sets the tone for the day with your accomplishment.

3. Focus on Progress, not your Shortcomings.

When you’re working towards something feel happy knowing how great you are doing and you’re progressing towards what you want!

4. Stop the Complaints about not having enough Time.

I have news for you, there isn’t a person on this planet who feels like they have enough time.  The more you say you don’t, the more it will feel like you don’t.

5. Take the Time to Plan Out your Day in Advance

Having an exact list will not only keep you on track for how you’d like your day to go but being able to cross off completed tasks gives you a sense of accomplishment.

6. Don’t Multitask

Take one task and do it.  Don’t take time to check social media, don’t make a phone call…Get it done.

7. Touch it Once, Complete It

If you open an email, answer it then.  Don’t make more work for yourself by not finishing a job when you first see it.  The mental strain of having uncompleted work can be brutal subconsciously.

8. Set Routines

Come up with routines to simplify your life.  We all say children flourish in routines, but adults are the same way.  Having an understanding of how you do things eases your mental strain of having to constantly set new routines.  Start with a morning routine and stick to it..they say habits take 30 days to become your new norm.  The work on a dinner time routine, and so on.
