2022 Orlando Airport to Walt Disney World Transportation Options
As 2021 came to an end, so did Disney’s complimentary transportation between the Orlando International Airport and Disney resorts- the Magical Express. Many guests are now wondering what their 2022 Orlando Airport to Walt Disney World transportation options are. Let’s take a look at some transportation options as we enter the new year.
Mears Connect- Mears offers a few different transportation options. Mears Connect will be structured similarly to Disney’s Magical Express. First, there is a standard Mears Connect option. This provides shared transportation to a Disney resort with multiple stops. Mears Connect is priced at $32 roundtrip per adult and $27 roundtrip per child. The second option through Mears is Mears Express. This is a direct service from the airport to a Disney resort. This option will offer limited wait time, but is not considered private transportation. It may be a shared service depending on the trip. Mears Express is priced at $250 for the first four passengers and $55 for every additional passenger after that. Mears will also continue to offer private luxury transportation options.
Uber/Lyft – Using a rideshare service is another option for travelers. Uber and Lyft are two apps that can be downloaded to any Smart Phone. Guests can “call a ride” on the spot (easy for going from the airport to your resort) or “schedule a ride” (convenient for scheduling your transportation to the airport in advance). Prices for an Uber and Lyft ride can vary depending on the day and time, but can often be a reasonably priced method of transportation.
Private Transportation – There are numerous options for private transportation companies in Orlando. These companies will provide different types of vehicle options, from sedans to SUVs to vans. Some companies will even offer car seats for any children who may require them. Some companies will also include a stop at the grocery store if you would like to pick up a few items for your resort stay. Pricing will vary depending on car type, number of guests, and time of your trip. This is perfect for guests looking for direct, private transportation.
Sunshine Flyer – Accepting reservations beginning February 1, 2022, the Sunshine Flyer is a unique method of transportation for families to utilize to their Disney Resort. The Sunshine Flyer offers guests 1920’s themed transportation. All drivers and staff on the motorcoaches will be fully dressed to match the theme and in character to start providing magic as soon as you leave the airport! The motorcoaches are wrapped to model either a 1920’s train or passenger car. Sunshine Flyers ensure a short wait to depart the airport. There may be numerous stops on the route to your resort. The Sunshine Flyer is priced at $34 roundtrip per adult and $25 roundtrip per child.
